We have all gone through those irksome moments when we click a seemingly interesting Web page but have to wai endlessly for the same to lad. The reason is often simple -- a slow Internet connection. Most of the times, Web pages rich in multimedia content get loaded at an excruciatingly slow pace. But there is no need to fret, as Google Fast Flip is here to address this problem.
A new feature from the Google Labs, this application lets you scan thumbnails of myriad pages and browse through them at a fast pace -- thus saving you the valuable time is takes from different page elements to load. As the pages load instantly, reading online or browsing through is a breeze. What's more, you need not face the frustration that we all feel when, after a long wait, once only finds a broken link or a blank Web page where the content no longer exists. A Web-based application which is still in the beta stage, Fast Flip can be reached by pointing your browser at www.fastflip.googlelabs.com. As of now, only features from publisher with whom Google has been working to develop this technology, are available in the Fast Flip mode. But more publishers are expected to join the bandwagon soon.
The Fast Flip page wears a neat and simple look, with a search box at the top. Use it to look for news stories and other relevant information that may interest you. Below the search box, there are four links -- Recent, Most Viewed, Recommended and Headlines. Click the link that will serve your purpose and it will t take you to a page where relevant articles will appear in the form of large thumbnails Click on any of these thumbnails to enlarge it and read excerpts from the story. If the excerpt is good enough to retain your interest, you may click the 'Read More' link at the bottom of the screen to open the page where the story is originally posted. To move on to other stories, keep clicking on the left and right arrows that will take you from one story to the next. Basically, the system is designed to ease the way we browse for information.
There are also links to various subsections which cover topics ranging from Politics, Business and Sports, to Science/Tech, Entertainment, Opinion and much more. Click on any of these browse through by clicking the left and right arrows, which you can browse through by clicking the left and right arrows. You may also sign in using your Gmail account and configure your Fast Flip homepage according to your choice. Instead of bubbling up titles, urls and a few lines of content, Fast Flip responds to a query with a grid of thumbnail images of relevant web pages, making it most convenient to go through new land information. It is quite possible that some day, Fast Flip may transform the way we read newspapers, magazines or even books, From a full choice and then flip through the pages absent-mindedly.
A good way to try it out is to type Valentine's Day in the search box. We have done it and the search has thrown up and array of web pages filed with news and information on Valentine's Day, lined up in thumbnail format. So go ahead and try it today-- it will be a fast, convenient and new reading experience.
