I used to own a Casio EX-600 prior to owning the EX-Z2300.When it became faulty Casio recommended me to buy the EX-Z2300. The EX-600 was much, much better and more 'user friendly' especially the charging procedure. The Ex-600 was a simple procedure of re-charging the full device on the cradle.
The EX-Z2300 has to have the battery removed and the battery charged independently. - I wish I had never bought the EX-Z2300. Therefore I shall never buy a Casio again.
